School Resource Officer
The Town of Cheshire is accepting applications for the position of School Resource Officer.
The Full Time School Resource Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff and visitors within the Hoosac Valley Regional Middle/High School. This role places emphasis on providing mentorship, counseling and implementing effective behavioral interventions to support the overall well-being and growth of students. The School Resource Officer collaborates with school administrators, teachers, and other stakeholders to ensure a positive learning environment. Additionally, this position actively promotes student development, emotional support, and positive behavior through proactive engagement and guidance. This position works under the direction of the Cheshire Police Chief.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Possession of a valid Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification in good standing; or the ability to obtain within one year of employment.
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license
- Valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate
- Current National Association of School Resource Officers Certificate (NASRO)
- Current Municipal Police Training School Resource Officer Certificate (MPTC SRO In-Service Training )
This is a full time, forty hour per week position with benefits.

Full Time Police Officer
The Town of Cheshire is accepting applications for the position of Full Time Police Officer.
The Full Time Police Officer is a front-line public safety officer working under the direction of the Cheshire Police Chief. Requirements for all applicants, graduated from/currently enrolled or willing to enroll in the MCJTC/MPTC academy for full-time officers, be at least 21 years of age with a valid Massachusetts drivers license and have an active Massachusetts License to Carry Firearms or ability to obtain one.
The position is full time, forty hours per week with benefits.
