2.3.26 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Town of Cheshire
Nomination papers for elected offices in the Town of Cheshire are available in the Town Clerk’s office as of February 3, 2026, during scheduled business hours. Offices on the May 4, 2026 Annual Town Election ballot will be: 1 Selectmen(3 year term), 1 Assessor(3 year term), 1 Assessor(2 year term), 1 Board of Health Member(3 year term), 1 Water Commissioner(3 year term), 1 Cemetery Commissioner(3 year term), and 1 Hoosac Valley Regional School Committee Member(3 year term) and 1 Planning Board Member(5 year term).
Candidates seeking to run for office should contact the Town Clerk to pick up nomination papers by March 12, 2026. All signatures must be ink signatures, no electronic signatures are allowed. Completed nomination papers must be returned to the Town Clerk for certification no later than Monday, March 16, 2026, by 5PM. 2026 Cheshire Dog Licenses
2026 Cheshire dog licenses are now available in the Town Clerk’s Office, 191 Church Street, The Community House.
Dog licenses are due April 1st.
On June 1st a Late Fee of $15 is added, and on August 1, a fine of $25 is added. This amounts to $40 added to the license fee.
Male/Female dogs are $20.00 and Neutered Male/Spayed Female dogs are $10.00.
Proof of current rabies must be shown.
