Notice of Zoning Amendments Public Hearing

The town of Cheshire, in accordance with the provisions of MGL Chapter 40A, Section 5, hereby gives notice to all interested parties that a public hearing will be held on Thursday April 23, 2026 at 5:00 PM. by the Planning Board. The public hearing will be at Cheshire Town Offices, 191 Church Street, Cheshire, MA 01225. The Planning Board proposes amendments to two sections of the zoning bylaw 1) amend Section 4.2 to bring the town into compliance with the Mass Affordable Homes Act, which requires Accessory dwelling Units be allowed by right across the Commonwealth with limited conditions and 2) create a new section of the bylaw to allow for short-term rentals as a use. A copy of the amendments are available for review at Town Hall.
