The Town of Cheshire & Berkshire Regional Planning Commission wants to hear from you!
Do you find yourself on dirt roads as you go about your day?
Have you experienced issues on unpaved roads such as wash-outs, erosion, washboarding or rutting?
Unpaved roads in Berkshire County are being increasingly impacted by extended mud seasons resulting from multiple freeze thaw cycles and heavy precipitation events likely due to climate change. These impacts are increasing road maintenance costs and increase the strain on municipal funds.
BRPC developed this online interactive map as part of the Western Massachusetts Regional Unpaved Roads project to gather information from residents that have experienced unpaved road issues. Even if you have shared concerns with the Highway Department, information gathered directly from residents is key to developing strong grant proposals to address identified issues. All information gathered will be shared with our local legislators and the highway department. The website and QR code will lead you to the interactive on-line map where you can enter information and even upload a photo. Keep these handy as we go through mud season. If you have any issues or questions, feel free to reach out to Alison Dixon, Senior Planner, 413-442-1521 x64 or [email protected]
