Draft Hazard Mitigation and Climate Adaption Plan - Public Input Needed
Since Fall 2021, Cheshire has been putting together a Hazard Mitigation and Climate Adaptation Plan. This plan addresses the impact of natural disasters and changing weather patterns on the Town of Cheshire. It looks at how and where things are built to determine the risk to people, property and quality of life. Some of the major hazards analyzed were flooding, wind, snow storms, extreme rain storms, high winds, extreme cold or heat, and drought (Chapter 3). With input from a broad base of Town leaders and regional representatives, the Town then came up with a list of prioritized actions with which to go after grant funding that will help better prepare our community from the threat of natural disasters (Chapter 4).
We are seeking public input on this plan as we go through the final steps toward adoption. Please submit comments to the consultant working with us on this project, Courteny Morehouse at [email protected] or (413) 442-1521 x26
